About us
about
Born on a kitchen counter in Hong Kong.
We're not a hundred-year workshop. We're two people and a cat who cook most nights and wanted one knife that didn't get in the way.
We started Steady in Hong Kong, where we live and where the kitchen is small enough that every tool has to earn its hook. Ethan draws; Mia shoots and writes; Jimbo supervises from the counter. We don't have a factory floor to romanticize, so we won't. What we have is a point of view: choose the steel that cuts best, shield it so it stays clean, draw it from one piece so there's nothing to hide in, and throw out everything else.
We chose Japanese steel for the edge. We shielded it in titanium. We made the whole thing one continuous piece. Then we stopped — no pattern, no logo, no clever flourish.
Germany asked how strong. Japan asked how sharp. We asked what happens at 9pm.
That's the company. Two of us, one cat, a small kitchen counter, and a knife built for the second half of the meal.
